Are 2k3 faster tthan 2k2s
Are 2k3 faster tthan 2k2s
I'm looking at either getting a fully loaded 2k2 or a base model 2k3 (financial constrants) and was wondering if I would lose any performance if I went with the 2k2.
Thanks,
Robert

technically the cars are exactly the same. but like someone else said, you can get a "Titanium Edition" 2k3 which comes with a compass in the mirror, shinier wheels, different stiching in the steering wheel, and metal door sills. but since you said you'd be getting a base model that doesnt seem like an option anyway.
but to get more specific, a fully loaded 2k2 will be slower than a base model 2k3 because of the extra weight that the leather, heated seats, CD changer...etc... will add. all other things being equal, the lighter car will always be faster one.
both cars are identical in performance but the added weight of a fully loaded 2k2 will slow it down ever so slightly. probably such a small amount that it doesnt matter to you.

If I were in your position, this would be a pretty hard decision (2k2 or 2k3). I guess it would depend on what you value: luxury ammenities or freshness/"some 2k2 bugs worked out in 2k3". Based on what I've read on this board, 2k2s seem to have more problems than 2k3s, and I doubt this is attributable to 2k2's having more miles on them.
However, the Max comes standard with a lot of goodies, so unless you really want leather/sunroof/heated seats/CD changer (can get aftermarket if you want), then I say get the 2k3. However, if you can find a superb deal on a fresh fully-loaded 2k2, then I'd consider that as well. My final decision would probably be a 2k3 with only a sunroof as the option. Leather is not THAT much better, and everything else you can get aftermarket down the road.
