I have a 2001 maxima 20th anniversary edition. Well i lost my handbook recently and it is time for my oil change. What kind of oil is recommended in the book. please respond a.s.a.p. I have about 2930 miles on it.

 

5W30, but if you live somewhere where the temp is warmer then 10W30 will work. But Nissan recommends 5W30. And no it doesn't have to be synthetic, though many on the forum swear the by likes of Mobil 1.

Don't put synthetic in for a while - at least 5000 mi. Use 5-30 to preserve your warranty - get good oil - don't skimp, after all, what's a dollar whe the car is over $20k?
