supercharger

I have been told a few times that if you run the right superchager set up you can get near 50% more horsepower. then i read all this people talking about how much power they got on their maxima's and it is no where near that. i even saw a guy who was running smaller pulleys and wasn't near 50%. why is this? is it because they are not running a very good set up or do vortechs suck ( i did here that vortechs can make you run lean and that could be fixed with bigger injectors.) could it just be to much parasitic drag ( and if so will under drive pulleys fix that)or is the unit just to small.and finally if the 50% gain is true then can the maxima's transmission handle that extra power? ( i know that many other nissan's such as the 240sx can handle that kind of power)

It depends on what size pulley you're using as well as your exhaust and a lot of other crap. You could easily get 100 hp out of a supercharger with the right set-up.

If everything is tuned properly and you are utilizing your setup then yeah 100 whp gain is definitely forseeable.. Dyno tune with AFC and you should be gtg. Have proper fuel pressure, exhaust setup all play a role in your #'s.. But you should really ask this question in the SC forum.

Re: supercharger

That was a knee-slapper post! To answer that question (you probably didn't read around the forums based on what you wrote), I'm just going to point at my sig - that's a simple V2 supercharger setup with a 3.33" pulley, and a melted tranny. Account for a 25% drivetrain power loss between wheel and crank :

Stock wheel hp : 160
Stock crank hp : 222

Supercharged wheel hp : 268
Supercharged crank hp : ~357

I'm running a little bit lean, haven't tuned yet and the AFC is still in the box.

Whoever's been telling you things is on crack
