Newbie
Hey, ive been interested in maxima's for quite a while, i drive a jeep right now that i hate, but i should be getting a maxima soon, probably a 2000 se 5-speed, since thats about what i can afford. I test drove an auto se today, the guy just handed me the keys i was pretty impressed with the power and very impressed with the handling for a stock car...considerable body lean but no where near as much as my friends altima, it gripped the pavement pretty damn good, but either way springs will help me in that department. I'm looking forward to being a maxima owner..

If you are looking forward to buy a Maxima, I suggest you get the 2002 model. You'll get bigger engine and HID lights along with other bunch of stuffs over previous models. Look around, you'll find cheaper prices. Don't haste yourself to buy the car. Good luck.

I agree. They are practically giving the 2002s away now. It is a much nicer car IMO. Also, a Front Strut Tower Brace and Rear Sway Bar pretty much cures the handling problems without sacrificing ride comfort. At least look into them and see what other people are getting when they sell them....nothing.

$115 will cure the body lean with a RSB. See if you can muster up some extra money for the 2k2. Interest rates are good and so are the deals. The extra performance is worth it if you can afford it. Just remember, you'll be using premium gas now so factor that into your budgeting. 91+ octain is getting pretty darn expensive.

thats one thing i cant cut back money on, i would feel bad not putting 93 in anything i drive, except for my moms chevy, i dont really care about that....but being an 18 year old, im gonna consider myself lucky i can afford a 2000..

thats good, before i became interested in maxima's i was thinking about a 98 240sx and doing the sr20det swap, but i reallized that i wont be a kid forever, and i would probably end up drifting myself into a pole. a fwd reliable car would be better for me...plus i tend to break cars that i drive.
