tail lights

i tried doing a search, but for some reason it's down right now. so i thought i would ask a ? while my car was in the shop. as i notice older '01 maxima's, the tail lights look much better to me because they're blackened out. my ? is, will '01 tail lights fit into my '03 housing? i'm sure that this issue has been talked about, but i can't do a search on it. tia.

if they can, where can i get some for cheap?...

This is why I loved search!

But to answer your question, yeah they would fit. Pretty much a direct swap - there's a how to for putting 2k2 lights into earlier maxima's in the how to section at the main page of the fifth gen forum, check it out and do that.

I bought mine from the dealer for I think $125 a piece, but you can try a salvage yard and maybe find it cheaper. Also, try posting in the classified for a trade, maybe someone will trade straight up.

i think it all depends on what color car you have. i have a black max, and the chrome just didn't look right ..the older se taillights make the car a lot smoother.
i think on the lighter cars tho..the chrome looks alright. guess it's all just a matter of opinion.

I'll trade you my black ones for your chromies. Wife's car is sterling mist, and I think the chrome looks better.
