the pilot sports

are great tires i have 22000 miles on the set on my alti (235/50/17)

yes they are on 7" wide rims

they hook up better with some wear. i know i get better traction now than when they were new, however, i do have less cornering now than when they were new (doesn't make sense to me either)

still no chance at going WOT off the line with either of these cars.

There isnt really too many (which im sure u already know) good choices for the OEM size tires. Besides all the local places are out of stock for the Pilot A/S. If some1 here has 235/45 on the stock 17's in another brand other then the Pilots I would really like to know what brand it is. I think y2kse has the Yoko AvsEs100 in 235/45 but I just want him to confirm that he's rollin on stock wheels, if thats the case then I would rather just go with that considering its gonna be $300 something less, and almost anything is better then RE92. Thanks for the info though.

The jury is in...

I've reached a conclusion today...

I LOVE THESE TIRES!!!

It was freakin' pouring here in So Cal. You might call it moderate downpour whereever else you live. Water has reached to the sidewalk level and the freeways are flooded (in certain areas). Unlike the Potenzas, the Pilots didn't slip once!

I went through pools of water like a hot knife through butter. Sometimes I would hit these pools at 45-50 with huge waves on both sides of the car .... but I could feel the max still planted on the ground. This was the number one reason why I had to get tires in the first place. All in all, it was money well spent.

michelin pilot sports are seriously the best. I drove from ann arbor to windsor, canada in pouring rain at 80mph. everybody else was going 30-40 while i was just blowing past them. no planing, just a great ride.
