It's not the pure stark white of prior years, but not quite as creamy pearlized as say the Lexus or Audi are, which I like a bit better. I like the look of mine however, but as I wrote in another post am not sure that it can have the luster of a black car after it is waxed.

fan of the white
i agree with the night thing. i hardly noticed the pearl when i was buying the car - later that night when i was checkin it out the pearl really stood out in a very cool way - accentuates the curves - especially near the rear of the back door windows - it looks meatier or something at night.

Icelandic Pearl
Off white color. Really shows off its Muscular Shoulders in sunlight. Not polor white. Really nice and classy. In street lights at night, It really shows its Muscular body Particularly from the C-pillers behind. At dusk, It really shows off its curvyness. I love this color

My top two choices were the gray luster and the icelandic white because I liked the metallic in the the paints. I chose Icelandic Pearl. It seems like the car changes color from day to night. It's really bright white in sunlight and at night it becomes pearly white. So far no regrets on the color.

my 99se was white. I dunno if its all nissan paint or just the white, but damn it chipped easily. Also I noticed a slight difference in color between the bumpers and say the fenders or hood. My guess was the bumpers are plastic and maybe the flex agent in the paint caused the difference who knows. I only noticed this on the white though.

You are absolutely right about the paint fading on a Pearl white max. Before my current max, i had a '97 pearl white Maxima and the front and rear bumpers turned a yellowish color which looked absolutely horrible. Nissan knew about the problem and agreed to spray the bumpers over only one time for all owners who had the problem. But, guess what? The bumpers eventually turned yellow again. My advice: Don't buy a pearl white Maxima, youll regret after you see what happens to the paint..I sure did. Nissan knows about the problem and for some reason won't fix it.
