HID Anti theft devices

Ok So I went and got the HID Anti theft device that Courtesy Nissan sells. Took it to my dealer, of course they had never seen or heard of it before. Can anyone recommend a place to go to have it installed in southern CT?

I took it to my dealer and they didn't know what it was either, but they were happy to see the parts. The Service Manager even wrote down the part numbers so he could tell his boss that he did some research.

I'm assuming that they have the resources to find out. If they don't then who does!

Most of the install is pretty straight forward. Several *.org members including myself have already installed the kit. If you need some help, send me an PM or email.

I recently made a stop in to my wholesale parts guy at Coral Springs Auto Mall and was told that there is no such thing. They later told me that the anti-theft kit is mostly for those up in the northeast area. For those that have the kit, does it really help that much? How much is the kit from Courtesy?

I guess there's only one way to know if it works....that's if it stops a thief from getting the HIDs. I haven't seen any posts of people with the kit that had their lights taken. I could be wrong. Personally I think every little bit helps. Alot of people on the *.org may disagree.

If you have the dealer do it then it could cost $250 or more. I installed it myself. Send me an email & I will help ya.

Here are the instructions. I found that to install, have a C-Clamp handy. To put the 2 mounting studs into holes on the radiator support, use the C-Clamp to compress it (against the wiring harness) until it slides in. Use a piece of cloth on the C-Clamp so it doesn't scratch. Besides that, there are no adjustments to be made, the hood cable remains the same. Pops out of the old one, and into the new one easily.

BTW, I didn't do the door lock. Seems pretty complicated.

I didn't have to use the C-clamp...the bracket slid in pretty easy, but I could see it being a b$tch depending on how the wiring harness was installed in the car. The rest of the install is pretty straight forward except for the key lock protector which is very difficult. But somehow I managed to get it in.

The key lock installation is not that bad once you do it. Once you remove the door panel and bracing on the door, you have access to the door handle assembly. There are two links that go to the door handle assembly. The one closest to you can be removed at the door handle. The one closest to the door edge (farthest from you) should be removed at the door latch assembly since you can not see the door handle side once the protector is installed.
