C.A.I Purchase for a 2000 maxima

Can anyone suggest a Cold Air Intake system for a 2000 Maxima. I am looking at the Stillen and FrankenCar. With the FrankenCar, it is confusing as to what parts to order for the car, Apexi + Midpipe +?

Thanks

Jan

Neither is a cold air intake. Place Racing is the only true CAI.

With the Frankencar, you will get a midpipe (I recommend) and filter of your choice (Apexi or K&N). With the Stillen, you get a gloified K&N filter "popcharger".

Personally, I'd get the Frankencar with K&N.

And the Cattman CAI for the Frankencar.

Place Racing is the only true CAI.
What about Injen, I have one and I LOVE it.

Not a true CAI because it is right behind the radiator.....

The Injen isnt a true CAI as it sits underneath the radiator. THe Cattman and PR filter sit in the fender wall.

Actually though, wher e th e Injen is is where the cold air is. I understand it may be a little colde in the fender weel, except for any water that it may attract, but every other system that's cold air sits the filter near the ground.

And this has been tested and gone over 1 million times.

CAI's: Injen, Place Racing, Cattman (which is a place racing)
WAI: FrankenCar
POP Charger: JWT, Stillen

A gracious member tested the Place Racing which is the only true CAI and a FrankenCar type build. Basically he took just the midpipe from the Place Racing and attached the filter to the end. WAI (FrankenCar style) has proven time and again to give the best gains.

The Injen is without a doubt the best looking.

FrankenCar with Apexi is the best performance.

Take this with a grain of salt, because they all are very close in HP. Although nobody here has had a problem with any CAI's and rain, there is always a chance and you have to decide if that chance is worth buying another engine. All that said, I'd get the FrankenCar w/Apexi filter as it gives you a few more HP. 4 more hp to be exact and you don't have to worry about oiling it as it's a dry filter.
