ive been gettin a very slight whistling at low throttle almost consistently at about 1500 rpms. Anything more than that it goes away. Ive got an intake on and just put a y pipe on but it did it before the y pipe. i was just wondering if anyone had anything similar or if its anything i should worry bout. thanks

Yeah I do! What type of an intake do you have? I got a JWT pop charger. Ever since I installed it I have been getting that same whistling noise!

It's annoying as crap and it doesn't go away until something else drowns it out. If you have your heater on, it's noticeably louder because your sucking in air from the outside. That's the intake. I'll assume you have an aftermarket midpipe as well. When I added the midpipe, mine started to whistle. Altimas do not suffer from this problem.

Actually, your HVAC system sucks in air through the vents where your windshield wipers are. But the stress that this places on the engine would probably make it work harder, sucking in more air through the intake, and thus, making the whistling louder.

The noise is the air being swirled into your intake, and it is normal. Any time a large volume of air is trying to enter a small volume tube, it will make some noise.

Actually, the time to worry would be if you didn't hear any type of noise coming from your intake, as that would probably mean that it's not performing well.

My 2k3 did it from stock, it has something to do with the engine, intakes and whatnot make it notably louder though.
