Long Frustrating weekend ...(long)
The plan was to simply clean the throttle body and change/flush coolant. Beautiful weather here in NYC made me wanna live in the car this weekend so I found all sorts of projects. I got sidetracked and decided to have a go at finding a way to wire a line-in for my iriver iMP-350.
I disassembled the center console and got further side tracked trying to get to the ECU. Anyways, I dropped one of the freaking bolts and it rolled right up, under and out of sight. I could not find where the freaking thing was. So after searching and cutting the hell out of my hands trying to find it. I gave up and put the console back together. Here's the kicker, went out Saturday night and the bolt can be heard rolling around and vibrating while driving (it was laughing at me).
So I couldn't take the noise anymore, so today I decided to go for round 2 with the bolt. After about 2hrs, more cuts and being unable to find it. I gambled that it was under the carpet and cut into it on the passenger side. After what seemed like endless cuts and unbelievable sore fingers I finally got the bolt.
This was a bad modding/maintenance weekend for me. I can tell where everything is back there and I can take apart and replace the center console with my eyes closed. Oh, the carpet in our car looks like a cheap *** rubber backed carpet. I made a 3" cut that ran and turned into a 6" cut. sigh!
Is there anyone here on the board that works for unisia jecs corp?
