definitivemotorsports pulley installed! PICS

I recieved my pulley via UPS today. JBL85 has a groupbuy going on this pulley for $115 shipped. Its a tad lighter than unorthodox racing and has a better bushing (copper instead of aluminum).

I received the box only a few days after I paypaled.

Its lighter and underdrived. Heres a comparison to stock. I weighed it at roughly 5lbs less than stock.

And here it is after I installed it.

It was a pain in the butt to do. I recommend using Larry's How-To at the bottom of the page. His write up was detailed and right on par.

The car runs smoother and idles perfect. I can tell it underdrives, because the backlight on the gauges is dimmer at idle and brightens up when i rev the engine. I havn't had a chance to race to see how it drives yet.

For those of us that have bid sound systems. A new pulley may not be very good since without we're already straining for power and with you your gauges are dimming. I wonder if I get another compasitor this won't be a problem with lossing power for my speakers.

Did you had to change the belt ? I'm thinking of buying one but I'd rather have everything right from the start.

Cheers

Yes I did.
I bought both new belts ($20) and anti-sieze compound ($0.99)

There was talk of Unorthodox making a stock size lightened crank pully for Supercharged guys, but I don't know what happened with it. I have a digital voltage gauge and the only difference I noticed was a slight voltage drop at idle with lots of accesories turned on. I also noticed stepping on the brakes (at idle) draws enough current to drop the voltage by about 1/2 volt (with stock pully too). I wouldn't worry about power unless you do at lot of listening with the car ideling.
