New '00 owner, with a few ?'s

Hello i just wanted to say whats up! My fiance and I just picked up a 2000 SE, auto 2 days ago. Its the light blue metallic with 27k.

I have only had time to drive the car once so far, and havnt had a chance to really push it. But I am very impressed with the cars suspention, and road feel. It actually feels pritty close to the STI suspention on my Impreza.

Honstly I can say I dont know to much about this car, I didnt do too much reseach on it because I thought they were out of our price range, but we lucked out and found an awsome deal. There is absolutly no comparison to the other cars we looked at, (mazda 626, galant, camery, and accord). It is awsome to have another performance car in the family, but still have the practicality of a sedan. The only problem now is that I will have too cars to waste money on.

I have a few questions too:

-Will the '02 HIDs fit my '00?

-any one have a pic of the '02 Navigation, were does the HVAC go?

-what are some good sites for parts?

-any one auto-x they're maximas?

I'll take some pics soon!!

yes the HIDs will fit..but i wouldnt suggest them..well acutally let me stop myself, because it depends where you live, in my area (NJ/NY) they are being stolen alot, and they also do cost alot of money, thats why im keeping my 2k1 headlights just how they are, unless i get the AEs

some good sites for parts are....www.courtesyparts.com www.custommaxima.com for starters

hope this helps a little..

Forget HIDs if you live in a highly populated area. Yes they will fit.

#2 Should be done aftermarket with a flip up.

#4 If you want to lose!...JK ADMAN took STS class here in Vegas for '02!

I live in Orlando.

#2 -For the nav I was thinking about, making a pod, that would fit on the top of the dash. between the clock, and the vents, that groove is screaming for a pod with a 7" screen to fit right in there.

#4 - I wont be driving it lol, Im just trying to get the girl out there, help her lean the car.

So does it have the 16" or 17" wheels? Cloth or leather?
My wife drives a Satin blue pearl Maxima too and LOVES the car more than she loves me. Other than the incompetent dealer that we bought the car from (new) it is awesome. Best mod was dumping the Potenza RE92's for Cooper lifeliner SLE tourings. I installed (per HER request) 2k2 silver tails and clear corner lenses (my request) and it cleans up the lines of the car. I have pics of it if you would like to see the "after" look.

Maximum Velocity - wow I didnt even notice that.

HerBlue2kSE - It has 17's and a lt. grey cloth interior, my dealer has been retarded also, haha. Yeha those RE92's do suck, my impreza came with them, and I wore the lettering off the side walls. But they are still real new on the maxima so we will probably wait a little while to replace them. maybe some kumho 712's. I'd love to see some pics wth the 02 tails.

I will see if I can get a friend to host some pics of the Max and then post them out here. If not, is there an email addy I can send them to you at?

Interesting it has the 17"s and cloth in that color. Most of them up here that I have looked at are frost leather. The reason we bought from the incompetent dealer is we wanted cloth and not leather. Had we known what we would deal with we would have purchased the same car with LEATHER at the dealer we got our 99 from. I believe the satin blue pearl is a 2k only color. I will post after work unless the honey-do-list (hanging wall paper in the dining room)prevents me from getting them posted.

***Either the suspension in the impreza sucks, or they built your Max on a different platform than mine. Mine handles like a fat chick on a moped.

Nice car. You'll love it.

I agree, the first day I drove my 2000 SE Maxima, I could feel that the car was put together well, it takes corners well, everything about it is good (especially the SE model, the supension is amazing for stock )!!!

Well like I said, I have only driven it once so far, when I said it was similar to my car I was talking about the feel, the stiffness. Im not saying its a M3, but for a decent size "family" sedan, its got a nice stock set up.

and it will only get better once you drop it with springs, add fstd and rsb......once you have them on, you'll be surprised at how this family sedan can hang with other higher priced cars. have fun.

With the FSTB, RSB, springs, and AGX struts, it handles pretty damn beastly now. Quick, responsive, not much body roll. I dig it a lot and I have to say that at this moment there is not a hotter looking car on earth than mine.... in my eyes that is.
