Buying advice?

Dealership turned down my offer of $20,000 for a 2002 Max SE 6-spd. Basic options are 6 disk, sunroof, 17" and spoiler. Cloth interior. There's two of these models just different colors. Anyways, is the '02 worth more than $20,000 i propose? I'm assuming that they'll just pass it off to me when there are absolutely no buyers. I don't wish to spend more than $22,000 out the door. Any thoughts...

I the '02 considered a "new" car purchase? Do they have any '03s? I just purchased a new '03 Max SE yesterday with sunroof, cloth, automatic and single CD player for $22,400. Nissan is offering some great dealer incentives right now on the '03s and I think they are a real bargain.

Yeah, the 02's are new and it doesn't look like the dealer took it out for many test drives The invoice was about 25k. I have come across no '03 manuals in southern california!!! There's nothing but left over '02 models... oh well, I'll take what I can get. Looks like all the incentives and discounts are directed at automatic models.

Yeah, my wife needs to be able to drive this car so I had to get an auto. I haven't seen any manual trans Maximas at any of the dealerships I've been to. I actually bought my Max in Costa Mesa (which is about an hours drive for me as I live in San Diego, CA-I saved about $1,000 though so it was well worth it).

17" rims and spoiler should be standard on the SE

Yeah well, the last thing I expected was to drive home in a new car. Stuck to my guns and wound up with an '02 SE 6-speed in white. This car is damn sweet! The saleman was an *** however, bitter over a $20 grand sale? Maybe. But he tries to jip me of the floormats when it was clearly listed on the sticker. He didn't want anything to do with the car or myself after signing... gee what an ***.

No kidding man, he's your best buddy until you sign the paper work, then its NEXT person!!! Its okay tho, there's another salesguy who's apologizing and making sure everything is up to order. Im sure you know how stoked i am with this car... it rides so smooth. Getting used to the clutch, im already disliking speed bumps oh well, comes with the territory.
