BOSE sub rattle
BOSE sub rattle
I looked in the How-to thread about how to fix this problem but it wasn't detailed enough. I need to know how to take the cage on top of the speaker off and how and where to place the velcro. Has anyone else fixed this problem? Thanks in advance.
The plastic "Bose" plate comes off if you pull on one end. I fixed the problem by dynomatting the trunk and placing rubber spacers on the plastic piece corners and the rear window. I have no rattling whatsoever.
I dont really want to invest in dynomatting the whole trunk or anything... do you think the rubber spacers alone would be good enough since I dont have any extra subs?
ok, i took the cage off and felt around, but couldnt find the source of the rattle/buzzing so I dont know where to put rubber spacers or anything. Do i need to unscrew anything?

The rubber spacers are an easy thing to do and it won't cost you anything. Maybe a couple of bucks if a local stereo shop charges you for them. Just try it and see what happens. I dynomatted first and that took a great deal of rattle away. The rubber spacers took all the rest of the rattle away. There was still quite a bit after the dynomatting, so the rubber spacers did a very good job.

I put the spacers on the two corners of the plastic piece that's in the middle of your deck. Obviously the corners closest to the windows. I'm not sure how long they are, but I'm guessing about 1/2 inch. Maybe a 1/4 inch.
