Someone said a good way to protect the paint from chips and scratches is to use a 3M Clear coat? How does that go on? Like a wax?
Many of you mentioned how soft the paint is and how easily it scrateches. You are so right. I have a 97 Sentra and have ONLY used cloth wash towels I got from the Pep Boys car care department and I have tiny microscratches everywhere. No matter how much cleaning junk I use super thin swirl scratches are there. Kinda discourages me from buying an expensive car cause the scratches will just **** me off more.

clear mask
The mask is visible if you look carefully, but if it is in a picture or if you are five feet away, it is not noticable. Still, I don't like any mask clear or vinyl. When you remove them, you will notice the paint is a different color than the rest of the car.

Has anyone tried the 3M clear mask? Is it noticable on your car? Washing your car will not mark it up? I went to their site and it sounds great but I only trust consumer reviews, not manufacturer praise.
