Replacement rotors?

Anyone have any recommendations for replacement rotors for my 2000
Maxima? Should I go with OEM replacements via Courtesyparts.com or
local dealer. Or should I get my replacements from an aftermarket such
as Napa, VIP, Autozone, etc?
In case your wondering my car is producing quite a big of jitter
during highway speed braking.

Thanks

I would NOT replace OEM rotors with OEM rotors, because they will probably warp, too. I recently replaced a rotor with a Brembo blank. I bought it at a local imported parts dealer for about $65. Nissan wanted a lot more than that! When I compared the Brembo to the Nissan rotor, I found the Brembo to be better reinfrorced to prevent warping. The local auto part chains did NOT have replacement rotors in stock. Rotors for our 2000 only fit one other year (2001) so there is not much demand for them. When I contacted the auto part chains, they did not have any in stock.

Check out the Group Deal area to see if there are any bargins on Brembo Blanks. Also, check your local parts stores. Good
luck!

So these are bolt on replacements right? Are there any good online vendors for these parts?

Thank you

those are not Brembo BLANKS.

Look for the post about buying Brembo blanks from NOPI.

Hmm, this is what I get when I click on the search link,

"You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Any other ways to search for NOPI?

I put my name up on the group deal too, so I'm hoping to hear back on that one.

Thank you

Make sure

You dont use OEM pads. I have verified for SURE that my vibration is due to materials EMBEDDED in the rotor surface as according to theory here:

BTW, we are NOT in any way "making" you pay for the search. If you want to help the site out, then we thank you. But, if you want to ***** and complain about the search..take it somewhere else.

Re: Replacement rotors?

Has anyone ever shopped at www.drivewire.com for anything?

They say they have stock of Brembo rotors (blanks) and they offer free shipping on orders over $50.00 within the continental United States. Right now, they have the following Brembos...

Front - $52.57 each
Rear - $31.50 each

I was going to order the rotors from NOPIOnline.com, but I've read that they don't always have stock of things.

If you're going to replace your rotors and also going to replace your pads too AND have some curiosity - could you start from replacing just pads? I'd recommend R4S or Raybestos Quiet Stop, your pick. If you go with anything else - do your own research, I have no idea. I've been using stock set + R4S for more than two years without problems. Make sure also that the rest of brakes are fine, mostly caliper sliding pins should allow caliper to move, their rubber boots often crack, grease goes out and they stick inside pretty hard. If that's the case new rotors/pads won't last for long either.
