Injen

ok peeps new to the board and search option is broke so here is my question. does everyone get a check engine light after installation of an injen intake on a 2000 or is it just my car. cuz about 2 weeks after putting it on the light came on. is that or something else?

Its hard to say what it is at this point. Need more info.

Best thing to do is go to Autozone and get the code pulled from the ECU. They will do it for free and might have a book where you can look up the code. If they don't have the book, then you can post the code on here and someone can help you out.

That's weird. I've put 5000 miles on mine so far and no problems. It probably is your'e MAF, but our 2K's are supposed to be stronger than the new ones

dude, i forgot the code... but most members that i've met on the west coast throw the code around the 20k-40k mileage area. Something to do with the catalytic converter. Just slap on the stock intake and take it back to the dealer.

Mine didn't charge me for anything. They cleared the code and updated the ECu programming

Or you could always do the magic three words, or the magic one acronym

*** Ghetto Air Box ***

or our new friend

*** Ported Air Box ***

Both have worked for me way better than the Injen or Frankencar[

better how? Have you had all four? Quantify "better".

I've had an injen (on a 2k2) for 3k miles and no problems... even swapped it off then on again for dealer work. No codes.

Quantify shmantify...

I started with the Berk
Then I had the FrankenBerk
Then I had the Injen
Then I had the GAB, using only the elbow attached pipe
Now I have the PAB (actually Berk right now, cuz I'm fixing up the PAB)

Advantages of the GAB/PAB:

I have better low end pickup...
Low cost (approx 15 bucks)
Looks stock in case I need to go to the dealer

Quantify? Do a search on the people that have dropped from 15.0 to 14.7 I believe, or something along those lines...

This is what I was looking for... wasn't trying to flame. I just keep seeing "I have xx and it's the best!" from people who've never tried anything else, then they defend it but have no idea what they're talking about. Thanks for actually knowing what you're talking about.

I'm interested in this PAB. Any of you guys have a write up? This can be my summer project, plus I can sell my Injen.

It's cool, I don't have dyno numbers if that's what you're looking for, but all the.org members who have done this mod love it. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get it looking as stock as possible so as not to void warrany when I get my 3rd Bose HU installed next Friday. Silly dealer....
