Ok I am not good with car stuff. I cut the front of the air filter bracket off. I cut a straight line across the whole thing. I did not leave the ends like in this picture

Will it be ok still??

That's exactly how I cut mine too. The ends are useless.

Thanks ASU you will now allow me to sleep easy. Say I noticed that you are kind of a resident expert here I have been reading a lot of your posts. Do you have pics of the GAB on your ride, more specifically the tube under the air box? I have been givng consideration to moving to Scottsdale, AZ. I was there this winter and loved it! Lots of really nice people, nice rides, and nice women! I visited the ASU campus and walked around with a stiffy all day. Went up to the Red Rocks of Sendona which were beautiful. Great food at PF Changs, the mongolian beef is to die for! And you Arizonians drive fast man. I was doing 75 - 85 on the 101 and 202 and getting passed left and right. The only thing that p!ssed me off is when the cops cruse up to an accident (I noticed a lot of them) they dont bother re-directing traffic they just shut the whole works down. Anyways, thanks.

I don't know if I would consider myself a resident expert, but I appreciate the compliment....

I haven't gotten around to cutting the bottom port for the GAB. I haven't decided if I want to do that yet. I think the increased airflow with the top hacked off is good enough for now. I still need to get my hesitation TSB done and I don't want to have dryer vent in my engine bay for warranty work.

Do you have a 2K? Or 2K2? There is a difference in the GAB tubing for both. I did one on my 2K and it was much easier than the 2K2 is going to be.

That's what I'm leaning towards. Much more stealth and almost equally effective. I just haven't had the time.

Hey guys, i just cleaned my K&N filter and re oiled it, and let it dry and drip, so its not loaded it with, ok.. so I drive for 3 days, and my check engine comes on, but the car runs perfectly fine, I take it to the dealer and they say it detected "too much airflow" and there must be a leak somewhere??!?! I dont have the GAB but, is there such an error?? too much air flow? if that then everybody would have that problem.

Do you guys know what could be the problem? Dealer said it was my K&N filter.

You might have better luck posting this in a separate thread.
