Scratch-X
Scratch-X
Hello,
I recently bought a bottle of Meguires Scratch-X and have not used it yet. I was wondering if anyone that has used it can give me feedback on how-to apply it and how the results are. I am sick of looking at all my scratches!
Thanks for the replies!

pretty much just put a thin film of it using a terry cloth by hand. the wiping down was the hardest part - it does leave a bit of a residue. make sure you use a tight terry cloth to clean it up. it took out some of the lighter scratches and swirl marks so i was impressed. next time i will probably use a paint cleaner first however. the meguires gold on top of it really made the car stand out though.
good luck!
I've tried it on my old black Malibu, and on my 2k1 Grey Lusture, I wasn't impressed with it. I then went out and bought a tube of GS27 and really liked the results. Although it took some rubbing it made small scratches completely disappear, and did a decent job masking larger ones.
I just apply like wax. I have used terry cloth to apply and take off. Works great. I am using microfibre cloths more now. I use it on areas with small scratches primarily. On the rest of the car I use the gold class swirl remover followed by the gold class wax. Does good job imo.
Honestly SR-97 worked the best for me on a light colored max. It is hard to find locally and I found only shady looking online companies selling it for ridiculous amounts.
I think the company that made it went on to make GS27, but I was dispappointed by GS27 compared to the SR-97 product. It seems to me meguiars scratch X works better on darker colored cars.
I've reduced corner rubs with hairline cuts and thick black marks to a hard to see hairline cut, with SR-97
