Fox 5 problem solvers in NYC just had a story of stolen HID's on Maximas. Nissan essentially offered no information other than they are working on a case by case basis w/customers and their now available anti-theft kit. Also, some guys were seen on surveillance tapes jacking some HIDs in a driveway. The fourth time for those same people. Will try to find the story

They also emphasized that the hids are optional on the 2004s

Finally, we are getting some recognition on this...but on the bad side, all the punks who saw this will get new ideas and steal more of our headlights!

 

Yeah I beat you to it. I was sitting righ at my desk. I guess not too many ppl in the NE will opt for HID on the '04

 

Its sucked. 10seconds worth of coverage. They didnt feature the 3.2TL And the maxima at the driveway had no lights as it is.

There is an easy way out but no one seems to do it. 2k maxima head lights!!!!!! Why not tell people to swap them before the ****Z get stolen.

 

I didn't know about thefts at the time and the HIDs are a big reason why I chose this car. Why should I have to pay for 2k/2k1 lights? It's not my fault Nissan made such a stupid design and then when they realized it they offered a kit..good for them. They should have that kit installed on every Maxima in the NE instead of making money off of it by charging for their error.

If you click on Problem Solvers, you can send them an email describing your problem. It would be great if all the people from the *.org who have had this happen to them send an email. Alot of times Fox does a follow up and maybe by the large number of responses it could help the situation put pressure on Nissan.

 

no one wants to take this route because, let's face it, the 2k lights are just plain FUGLY!!!

what attracted me to my 2k3 was the engine and the HIDs...if it wasn't for the more aggressive style housings, I wouldn't have even contemplated dumping my altima for one....

I thought the 2000, when originally introduced, was a far departure in terms of styling from the 99's....

 

Fine, then have ur sh!tz stolen every week and then have a 6K insurance premium, that if anyone will ever take you.

the 2K lights are ugly but getting ur car fukced up is not??? give me a break. If you people like to suffer then keep getting ur headlights replaced (not you directly NT2SHBBY)
