well its down to these two colors. If you havent seen the blue yet its very dark in the showroom, but get it in the sun and it shines. I think it would be almost as hard to upkeep as a black one.

Blue

It may be hard to keep clean, but it looks great. I wish they had that color when I got mine. I would definitely go with blue.

Me Too

I'm about to get a New Maxima 2001 20th Anniversary, and i've narrowed it down to 2 colors as well . . . Majestic Blue and Grey Lustre.
I'm leaning towards the Blue because it's such a special color, it looks great, and it really differentiates the 20th anniversary with the SE.
the Grey lustre is my second choice because I like that color as well, it is lower profile and inconspicuous.
When it comes to upkeep, do you think the Blue will be as hard as a black?

sporty or classy?

u pick. blue is a fun color to drive in. i love blue. but gray imo gives the car some extra class and luxury feel. u old?? if i had a choice back then i'd still get my gray car.. it's nice. it changes color under the light. mostly looks green where light is concentrated.. a nice gray green look. not a nasty one..

I got the Grey Lustre. I really didn't like any of the other colors that were available, except for the black. But the black '00 Max's I saw at the dealers just didn't seem to have any depth to their color. I wished they had a blue option. If they had I think I would have bought that instead.

The Grey is an interesting color. In subdued lighting, it looks subdued. But when the sun hits it at good angles you get some different color reflections from the metallic flakes in the paint. Sometimes it almost looks like one of those chameleon colors, but more subtle. My sig is a good example. The sun was pretty low in the sky, and the yellow light blended with the grey at the back fender.

I have the grey lustre SE... and I like it out of the colors they had available for the 2000 model. I would go with the BLUE, but that is only made for the Anniversay Edition... so if you wanna fork out extra $$$ go with the blue, but if you want to go with a non-anniversary edition go for the Grey Lustre.

Blue!!!

There are so many gray, silver and black Maximas out there... Plus, the blue has real depth to it - picture how good it'll look with 4 coats of hand-applied show wax!

Yup, my previous car was an Accord in that black color that had the blue flecks of metallic paint in it (called Nighthawk Black). In bright light it looks really dark blue. It was a great color, but a pain to take care of. I didn't notice anything like that in the Maxima black though.
