Where is Alternator?

I need to know what side of the 2002 Maxima GLE that the alternator is on if I am looking at the engine. I have to install a special device on the car.

If you don't know where the alternator is, how do you expect to pull off installing this unknown "special device"?

TELL US!!

no body answers this question??

on the passenger side, check your drive belt....it goes thru 4 pulleys and locate the smally pulley that's close to your bumper. that thingy attach to that small pulley is your alternator.

OK, Thanks for the answer on the correct side. Now I know how to install it. So the other person is correct in that I cannot install it correctly without knowing the correct position of the alternator.
The device, from Australia is suppose to reduce gas comsuption, reduce emssions to almost zero, reduce the temperarture of the car when running, improve performance, reduce fatigue when driving long distances. I am preparing to test it. It is positioned in alignment with the alternator. Will let everyone know the results.

Hmmmm....all those things? Might be some kind of 'interactive control unit' that communicates with a base station...

on a tow truck??

it only gets bad when you try to hide what you want to do... you still haven't said what the "device" is.

I will feel better about discussing further when I get positive results with it. I want to make sure it works as stated.

I just bought my first Maxima a few months ago and love it. It is a 2002 GLE that I bought used with 19,000 miles on it. Great car!

Unless this "device" is an aftermarket computer, it won't do squat. Not only that, but it should have nothing to do with "interfacing" with the alternator. This makes no sense at all.

1. I read that the first time you wrote it
2. Why the secrecy? I'm guessing someone has tried it before (there are 20,000 people here, you know, and they visit other boards as well so they bring the collective wisdom of those boards, too)
3. How about giving us a NAME for the "device" instead of just "from Australia is suppose to reduce gas comsuption, reduce emssions to almost zero, reduce the temperarture of the car when running, improve performance, reduce fatigue when driving long distances ???

Exactly how do you pronounce "Tornado Air" down under?

As far as I am concerned the only thing that reduces driver fatigue is for someone else to do the driving.

if someone tells you an unbelieveable story when youre driving, it will help keep you awake. also, laughter helps fatigue I think.

Well, if a "special device" like this worked, don't you think Nissan would have actaully had one of these built in? Trust me, none of this stuff works. It's all just SCAM. It's almost like some fat lady poppin some pills to lose weight... it doesn't work!

That may be true if he just came here and said 'Where is the alternator?', without shoveling out all this cryptic BS about some wonder device.

Having done that, he opened the door for questions, etc.

How do you NOT know where the alternator is??? I guess you have to actually know what one looks like, then its easy since it is right there!!!My girlfriend even knows where it is!! I was working on the car and pointed to stuff and asked her what it was. She knew more then I thought and I explained what everything else was. Now thats what I call quality bonding time!!!
