any comments on these HID bulbs I got?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ory=36476&rd=1

It says they are from an IS300 which had D2S bulbs, and they were converted to D2R. Will they be brighter than my stock bulbs? Lexus uses 6000K bulbs right?
Someone had said that D2R are used for reflector housings and D2S are used for projector housings. But the IS300 uses reflector housings. What gives?

I hope these are good.

they are d2r made into a d2s. by removing the gray U part, it removes the protective brighther part that projectors need to avoid the glare.

No OEM uses 6000k bulbs. That is strictly an aftermarket thing. All OEMs use 4100 (or 4300k, depending on what specs you look at and who you talk to)

They are D2S converted to D2R you mean.
So, will I notice any difference compared to stock?
If all OEM bulbs are 4100K or 4300K, how come Lexus' HIDs look different from ours? They're usually brighter, even on the IS300.
Did i waste my $$?

00Maxse the reason many stock HID's look different is many are projector housed. That's what gives the stock ones on bimmer,mb, etc a different color.

You are mistaken, they are D2R bulbs but the U-shaped housing or something was removed to give the output of a D2S bulb.

K is color temp, not brightness.. infact, the higher the color temp after 4500K-5000K (getting blue/purple), the less brightness you will have for the road.

zoogfatha I know that, but I'm talking about the stock HID's with REFLECTOR housings, not projector.

So, will these be brighter since they give the output of D2S bulbs?
Will I notice a difference??
