2K1 Clutch Replaced - Question to 2K2-3 Owners
Saw a post the other day on clutch chatter and didn't get a chance to respond. From almost new my 2K1 clutch chattered and just isn't smooth. The steeper the grade I start off on the more apparent it is. Nissan finally replaced with 20K on the OD, however 2 weeks later, it was the same...just like service told me it would. It's inherent to the car apparently and it aggravates me to no end.
Question to you 6 speed owners, are the 2K2-3 clutches smooth or are they too plagued by chatter/rough engagement? I like the car a lot and would consider trading up, but I cannot live with a clutch that isn't smooth. Thanks.

ehhhh, they are OK I guess. There have been reports of some issues, I have 50K on mine, and I think I need a new one.
I'm not sure, but I think Nissan put the same clutch in the 02-3's as prior years. But ours have much more HP, so it wears it out.

BTW, if you drive an 02-3 you will be hooked. The power over the 00-01's is tremendous.....unless you have a hairdryer under the hood.
Hope this jabber helps.
