Those who know or have Experience w/ DYNAMAT.....Please HELP--->
yeah i know this belongs in audio but nobody hardly goes there...
Few questions:
1) Whats Dynamat's purpose? I know its to reduce road noise or whatever but does it also reduce rattle too?
2) Is it highly recommended? If so do I only Dynamat the trunk or what else on the car do I have to Dynamat?
3) How much do I need--- I found this AUCTION for 36 sq. ft.-- how much would that dynamat?
p.s. I plan to run only 1 12" JL W7 sub for now but might upgrade later on to 2 12" W7's---
Thanks

1)To reduce rattels due to subs, and also reduce outside road noise.
2)I highly recommend using Dynamat, actually since your running W7s i suggest you use Dynamat Extrem. The trunk and the rear deck should be enough but you can do your whole car if you would like.
3)That box should be fine but it wont cover the whole trunk and the rear deck.
Check out my webpage for some pics! Good luck.

2 W7's in a sedan? i dont know about that. My friend told me about someone who had 3 W7's in his SUV and when he got out of the car there was some liquid dripping out of his ear. Those things are monsters, one should be enough.

I use to be running 2 12" w7s thats nothing compared to the 2 15's my cuzin had in his Lexus. I remember sittin in his car and feeling my throat vibrating and my internal organs shifting all around.

dynamatting will reduce various things depending on where it goes.
on the floor, you will remove road noise.
in the doors, you'll make your components sound clearer and you clear a lot of wind noise. i suggest spraying your doors. a bit easier and it covers more area.
also, keep in mind that dynamat isn't your only option. cascade makes some very strong sound deadening/proofing materials. Cascade Barrier VB-4 is a foamed insulaation. it absorbs noise, therefore sending less vibrations to the outer part of the car. i used VB-4 on my rear deck and my trunk floor. on my sides, rear, and trunk lid, i used a stronger level of cascade barrier, VB-3, which is 2 layers of foam with 1 layer of pure lead in between. that is some strong stuff. i dont' expect to hear any rattle coming from my trunk. i'm gonna be using 2 DA TDX's in a 1" MDF 2.0 Cubic enclosure. the tdx was just reviewed on mobile car audio and review and if you read, it got some VERY VERY good reviews. let me also add that it's almost half the cost of a W7.
good luck with whateve ryou do...below are a few pics and a few links....
