E-Brake is loose
E-Brake is loose
Hello
Anyone ever had the E-Brake loosen up after use? I have a 2k2SE Auto and I usually use the brake when I park. I have not used it for a few days, and when I got in the car today to go home from work I hit it and it wiggled quite a bit. So I grabbed it and it moves side to side and up quite a bit. I was wondering if I needed to tighten the bolt on the underside of the handle to fix the problem, or if I should stop by the dealer to have them check it out.
I want to make sure that there is no major problem with it.
Thanks,
- Seth

I think this would more be a problem with the cable itself. I would take it to the dealer since you are under warentee. Oh, you should ALWAYS use the parking brake. Not using it on an auto puts a lot of strain on your tranny.

Re: Re: E-Brake is loose
Somehow your post ended up in the middle of my original post.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I figure I'll stop by the dealer this Saturday since I'll be right around there and bug one of the service guys for 5 minutes.
Better safe than sorry.
I try to use the parking brake all of the time, but sometimes it slips my mind when I'm in a rush.

I use it all the time myself, it will feel loose after constant use. Last time i went for servicing they tightened it up. But after a couple thousand miles it went loose again.
I never considered it a biggie though.
