progress RSB install tight?

I recently installed a Progress RSB. When installing it, I found that the RSB was just a little short in width.

I followed the provided instructions installing the two bushings on the beam first and then mounting to each trailing arm. The problem that I ran into was that when I went to attach the RSB to the last trailing arm, I found that it the RSB was about 1/2"-3/4" too short. I just pulled on it(towards the outside of the car) until I could start threading the nut by hand and then tightened it down with a socket wrench.

Perhaps the RSB is supposed to be tight like what I have described.

Anyone with a Progress RSB have the same issue?

Is the RSB supposed to be stretched when installed?

I installed mine on WED and the EXACT same thing occurred. My guess is that it was supposed to be that tight, but it sure was a ***** to nut that last bolt. I don't know if I'd refer to it as stretching, but it did require a bit of breathing. So far, car corners solid.

Yes, you must put in more muscle with the last trailing arm you work on. It's normal. Just make sure you get everything nice and tight.

And a week or so later, recheck everything as it can sometimes loosen up in the beginning. If that happens, retighten everything as much as you can, take the car out for a spin, and enjoy the ride.

What's the best way to keep the nuts from seizing to the bolts?

Yeah mine was tight as well. I was actually thinking of buying longer bolts until a friend of mine put his foot onto the RSB and pressed until I could hand tighten the last bolt. But things are still tight now and love to take corners at speed.

Do any of you people hear the RSB clunking when you have 2 people sitting in the back?

i moved the bracket and there is nothing below it, but still i can hear it when i go over bumps on the road pretty fast, or i take a right turn and there is a bump, i hear something and the only thing it seems to be is that the RSB is touching the ground.

Forgive my ignorance, but... how could the rsb be touching the ground? I'm thinking about getting the cattman/progress bar and am concerned.

It's basically bolted right underneath the axle so if it's hitting the ground, there are more problems than just the RSB. Mine has been on less than a week with no noises or problems(Cattman/Progress). I haven't had any adults in the back yet, only my youngins but no issues so far.

Yes - had to use a C-clamp to put attach to the second trailing arm. Then tightened the nuts again a week later (they were still tight).

2001se, your RSB is hitting the Panhard bar. Move the multi-beam (not the trailing arm) RSB bracket on the passenger side in toward the middle of the car - the noise will stop. I put both of mine toward the middle just so they're symmetric, don't know if that's required though.

i got it done at the shop...the guy told me that he moved it already and there is nothing below the bracket, so there is no reason to move it more towards the middle, but can i tell him to move it a little bit more? because it clunks sometimes when i have people in the back
