Installed my Frankencar tonight...Question

I took off my Injen and installed my Frankencar that I got through the GD.
You know the aluminum curved bracket that you're supposed to attach to the MAF adapter and then to the car? Well mine doesn't line up, so I can't connect it. my whole intake needs to be back like an inch for that to work, but all my connections are tight and close as possible.
Did anyone have this problem with their 2k-2k1?

I notice that in this pic from Frankencar's site, the bracket isn't used.

But in this pic, it IS used. (I know that's a 3.5, but its basically the same setup right?

BTW, this is the 3rd intake that I've had it's definately the best one so far. It's LOUD and I gained some low-end over my Injen.

Hmmm, I notice that the 3.5's have an extra coupler between the MAF adapter and the filter. I guess the 3.0's are different.
But it would make sense to have the intake supported somehow, othewise its being held up by only the couplers and the vaccuum hoses.

You need to bend the brace to fit. It took me a minute to get it right.

Does everyone's intake is really close to the fender from the inside?, but i mean really close, like 1 cm.

when i installed it, it did look like it would be better if it was 2 inches shorter so it wouldn't be that close to the fender behind the battery.

Good, so I'm not the only one. The filter is so close to the fender than it got a few drops of water from the drainage channel when it was raining.

brining the nozzle a little closer to the trottle body

I have a theory for the intake that I am too lazy to work on, i think it will revolutionize my world =-]

ya, i just thought of that right now...

Its because the MAF adapter for the apexi fits the oposite way rather than the K&N, thus needing a silicone adapter.

(stay with the k&n)

This is kinda off the topic, but I ordered my frankencar w/apexi almost a month ago and its not in yet. Are they on backorder or does it usually take this long to come in?

Where can I get more info about this frakencar intake? Soon to be maxima owner and I am wondering if I can use a 9 inch K&N since I have one lying around.

Thanks

You won't need the bracket if everything is nice and tight and doesn't move around much.
