Installed Y-Pipe

Installed Y-Pipe
Finally installed the Cattman Y-Pipe that I had sitting in my car for the last 6 months. It is the California spec.
$50 install at my local muffler shop.
No problems! No engine light, no fittment probs, no banging under the car, no bees in the can!
It does make a noticeably deep growl, mostly at idle and under 3K rpm. I can't hear any differnce above 3K, or at crusing speeds. Mostly just around town when the rpms stay in that lower range. It's a nice sound.
With the elimination of the pre-cat, it does put out a nice black smoke & exhaust smell until the engine is warmed up. After that, it's normal.
Before the install, I thoroughly checked my HP on my G-Tech Pro. I did 10 consecutive runs on the same road, disregarded the highest and lowest runs, and then averaged the remaining 8. My average was 159 HP. I did the same thing after installing the Y-Pipe and got 172 HP. A nice 13 HP increase! Using algebra, this translates to 18 HP at the engine. (Hey, you actually DO use that stuff you learn in school!!!)
My butt dyno actually noticed a difference. I was counting on not being able to, so this was a nice surprise.
Very happy with the results!
