I hate that!!!!GRGRGRGR!

I hate to ask but the search is not working, which is a $%#($# pain in the ***. But can some one remind me of how to restart the ECU?

restart or reset? if you talking about reseting, then i would disconnect the negative terminal overnight. this may not even be long enough. ive heard some people say a few hours will do while others said certain settings are permanent in the ecu and no amount of time will reset it.

You need an OBD II scan tool. See if Autozone can do it for you.

Like t56gen3 said, I think you need the scanner. Disconnecting the battery won't clear it. A while back someone posted a procedure to 'supposedly' reset the ECU in a 5th gen but I didn't believe it. It involved turning the key and pressing the gas pedal a certain number of times in a 30 second period or something like that. To be honest it seemed like BS but I could be wrong. I think I saved it at home, if I did I'll post it again tonight.
