the ride should be expected to be rough...more rim, less rubber...and if you don't drop the bish, it's gonna look horrible and forget about tires....$300+ each...

go 17's, 18's...I personally wouldn't go bigger...

i live in ct and work in ny, so i definitely understand your concern with potholes, etc. i just put 18's on my max and i love 'em. i was debating for over a month whether to go with 18's or 19's. i was set on 19's, but the tires are just so expensive (cheapest i saw were on tire rack for like $210 a pop) and potholes are atrocious. The 18's are sweet, cost me like $500 less for rims/tires and the ride is great. I just keep an eye out for potholes, but you gotta do that regardless of whether you're on stock or aftermarket.

Represent NYC!
The roads around NYC are so bad because of a varitey of reasons:
1) extreme wear and tear - no roads were designed to carry so many cars & trucks 24/7/365
2) weather - freezing weather in the winter & 100+ degree weather in the summer
3) not enough money to routinely maintain them.

I hate it but what can you do if you live in NYC?

I definitely wanna go with 18's on mines too. I don't think it will be that bad just and long as you drive slow and avoid potholes on the local steets. The highways are bad but barable.. You can always get the rim re-rounded for cheap out here

Honeslty, I'm scared to drive in NYC with my 17"s. 18s would not last unless they are really really strong. ie. forged.

ive already bent 2 stock rims.. and 3 speed knots on new york roads (LIE has a huge hole int he middle laine between exits 50-60, i just like drove right into it at 20mph, and the car just smacks.... My aftermarket suspension hated that.

I would like to get used 19" Moda R6, but I think they will get fu*ked up bad so I'm debating paying like $200 more and getting 18" Mille Miglia Action Sport (Chrome)...I know this is a matter of opinion but what would you go with?

I would go with anything FORGED....if it ain't forged ur asking for problems....

Yeah forged rims aren't impervious to bends, but ALOT stronger than cast rims..... OEM factory rims are forged so let that gauge you....

Real Racing Hart's are forged, SSR's are forged, some Enkei's are forged, you need to look around and inquire

got me there...

but i still dont' see how getting larger rims will cause more scraping. especially when i'm keeping the same overall diameter.

no no....I guess we had a mis-communication here.....I'm talking about 18" rims with low profile tires coupled together with your GC's will make riding in NYC tough......u'll bend easier than those with less drop and u might scrape depending how low u drop the car and drive around with it like that... follow me now?
