Pricing of a 2003

I spoke to a dealer today who I contacted over the internet. I get to talk to a sales manager (whatever that means). End result is
they said that they will show me the invoice and then I get $2000 off the invoice price (which is the current cashback incentive).

Now, I'm looking at getting a GLE loaded with everything except the navagation. Which by my calculations puts me at something like $24.8

I was going to buy an 02 or 03 used GLE with all the options. I was also goingto wait a month or two to do that. However, the leftover deal won't be available in a few months.

As far as pricing is concerned, will a save a lot by buying used? or with the incentives will it pretty much be within a thousand or two??

Also, is this the lowest they will go? I will try and grind the holdback out of them, but should they go lower than that?

I don't want to be too much of a bastard about it with them unless there is a possibilty that they will go lower. (ie)insisting that they can go lower when they can't

Thanks guys

Chris

I think 23k would probably be fair. I am sure people are going to say 20k at the highest, but you will never get that. One thing with the dealer is don't forget the taxes and the doc fee. They will add about 1500$ to the final price.

Where do you live? Here in GA there are no taxes for private party sales. Something you may want to consider.

I think in the 24s is very fair for a loaded GLE. Heck sticker is well over 30 right? The best I've seen prices are $21000 for a Base SE auto. Add sunroof or anything else and price startes climbing fast. Bose-add another 650+. Heated seats, yadda yadda...

dont buy a used max....lord knows who drove it and how they drove it....$24k fully loaded is a decent price....try to get that price OTD (out the door-inc tax/title/etc..)

remember dealers are stuck with these, they should be quite hungry....

Here's some numbers to think about. My wife bought a 2003 GLE this March from CARMAX. Sticker on the car was $29,324. CARMAX wanted $25,996 and there was a $2,000 rebate then. This puts that car at $23,996. Of course, sales tax was figured from the $25,996 point. So depending on the sticker of the car you are looking at, which I assume isn't much higher than the car my wife bought, then there may still be room for negotiation.

We purchased our new base '03 SE auto for 6k less than MSRP. It only took about 10 minutes to get the paperwork done since I had previously contacted the internet sales manager and had agreed to that price before we showed up at the dealership.

I bought a 2K3 SE for $24.5K out the door, which was about $22.2K before tax and license and such - in other words, I got it at $6K off of MSRP, and well below invoice. I shopped around pretty hard thought, and ended up getting a sick (re: 1.9%) financing rate. So do your homework and look for some connections...

Here in Dallas right when the new 2k4's came out, Bankston Nissan was getting them out the door at $8K below M.S.R.P. Don't even think about paying $25K or anything like that for one. OTD is another thing, once you figure out taxes and do. fees. Look around, call dealers and I'm sure you'll find dealers willing to deal on a 2K3, why wouldn't they? They really need to get rid of those cars and make room for all 2K4's.

kinda sucked, they didn't have any 03s new
And they've stopped locating them for people. Basically there was a miscommunication (ie. lied)

Anyway, I was looking at a used 03 with 22K on it, got the guy to 18, but wouldn't go any futher. SE with moonroof.

I also am going to see an 02 with 33K SE Moonroof. for $15K

I'm thinking of going for that one, assuming it checks out.

Yep your right and people jumped all over that too, Lewisville doesnt have any left neither does Irving and Dallas only has one or 2 left. The supply of new 03's is dwindling very fast now.

Thats good pricing and the reason being is the mileage 33k is alot of miles for an 02 and 22k is definately alot for an 03. Your 3/36k is almost up on the 02 and only 14k shy for the 03 think about that as well. You will have a relatively new car without the warranty except for the powertrain.

I think a lot of it depends on where you live. I bought a 2k3 SE auto with Titanium Edition, Leather, BOSE, sunroof, etc for 25,120 before taxes and I believe thats a good price for where I live. The dealership where I bought mine didnt get too many 2004's in and was pretty sold out of them but had a very base GLE and my SE sitting there and had just sold 3 2k3's in the week before I bought mine.
