dealer abuse
dealer abuse
My wife and I went to check out the Murano with CTV at a local Nissan dealer. While we are persuing the SUVs I hear a screaming Nissan v6... I see a service guy in a blue 350Z taking the car to the red line in each gear as he heads for the service bays. Maybe...
a) he was testing rev limter function
b) he is a well-paid Datsun mechanic who was late for work
c) he was pounding the snot our of a customer's much loved ride while it was in for its 3750 oil change.
That's why I don't want to take my '03 SE in for warranty work. I gueass at a minimum I better wait until it's well broken in before it gets left in the hands of these abusers.

That must be one huge a s s nissan lot to be able to hit the redline in more than one gear.. maybe it just seemed like he was because the car actually has an audible exhaust?...WHEELMAN
if you absolutely have to let your dealer work on it, make your appt on a saturday or a day when you can be there, and stay and watch the whole time!! follow your car around. most reasonable shops will let you watch them work on your ride (from a safe distance, of course). if they won't... find a different one...
even getting the oil changed, i always stood at the front of the bay, arms crossed, watching. never spilled fluid on my watch!

Re: dealer abuse
I generally hang around the lot anyways : if I see my car traveling out of the lot I will be making a run for the keys to the one of the courtesy vans/rentals, will chase him down, and make him walk back to the dealership.
And then comes the free service :P
