Why is the dealer calling me in?

I have owned the Max for abut 1.5 months, and after getting back from vacation I had a message on the machine saying that records show that I am due for my first service (complimentary oil change). I have a shade over 1000 miles on my car, so why are they so eager to get me to change my oil?

I don't care whether it's free or not, as long as the timing of the oil change is at the optimum mileage level, which I don't believe to be 1000 miles.

I bet they accidentally put in the Q45's V8 in your car. Better pop the hood and make sure before you take it to the dealer

it is recommended that you change your oil at 1000 miles, then every 3000 thereafter.

Who recommends a change at 1,000 miles? The manual calls for 3,750 mile change cycle.
