Clutch gurus need help please!

Hey guys, I am trying to track down the annoying creaking clicking sound that I get when taking off and pressing on the gas while moving.

I just had clutch TSB done a month ago and this new creaking noise started coming up about 2 weeks after the TSB service.

I know that they should only replace clutch disk as stated per TSB.

What else is in the clutch assembly except disk itself?

Thanks.

My car makes a squeek every time I use the clutch. The Service guy said that it was the fork or ball inside the transmission was dry. He said that they have to take the trans apart to fix it. Now I have to schedule that. I hate to think my trans is going to be worked on already.

Yeah I am not sure if I have the same noise as you. I get this creaking sound when I am not even using the clutch. Just when pressing on the gas pedal.

How can the noise come from the clutch if it only appears when you are moving the gas pedal??

If it's when you press/release the cluch pedal, try lubing up the pivot point on the pedal. It might be squeaking and not the clutch parts inside the tranny.

Yeah that is what I thought too that it might be pedal itelself making the noise, but if I press on the clutch pedal without engaging in gear and pressing on the gas at the same time no noise comes up. So I don't think it is that.

I only get the noise when taking off and engaging in gear and pressing on the gas at the same time. And I also get the same noise when pressing on the gas while the car is moving.

When you in gear say like 3rd and you moving and not pressing on the gas I get no noise, if I press on the gas I will get the creaking noise.

My question is when you hit the gas while in gear it puts the load on the clutch right. Because it is transfering the power to the wheels right?
So I am thinking because this noise only comes up under load (hitting the gas while moving and engaging in gear) it probably something with clutch assembly(disk, pressure plate, etc...)
Does that sound like it could be one of those items?

That's odd. When you fully release the pedal, 100% of the clamping force is applied to the flywheel/disc. No slipping is happening(unless you are speed shifting or something). Might be something else.

Yeah so what I am thinking it is probably problem with flywheel/disc or something there. It seems to be making that creaking sound when I am engaged in gear. They replaced disk per clutch TSB so maybe it was a faulty one.

I'm having a similar problem only its not creaking but sounds almost like a bearing whine. It only happens under heavy load like if I gear down and stomp on the gas pedal. I had the belts checked by the dealer and they said they were tensioned to spec. Anybody have any ideas?

Well since I had my clutch changed the noise seems to be gone.
May have been a throw-out bearing but now that it's gone
me so happy

Jeff, I have a question, so what part of the clutch assembly is working when clutch pedal fully released and you driving and pressing on the gas. I am just thinking that they were taking apart tranny to replace the clutch(for that clutch TSB), right?

I get this noise not only when engaging in gear, but also when just driving and pressing on the gas.

Thanks.

Well looks like I missed the fokking boat on this one
The car started leaking gear fluid so I took it in. Turns out it was the bearings for the differential that were whining
Got them replaced(luckily it was under warranty)
