Suggestions for an OEM Muffler replacement?
I took Forrest's and Matt's suggestion/idea and called up the shop. They're willing to replace the exhaust with an aftermarket one and i may even get the saved cash to keep for myself.
Now looking at the estimate, it seems the Nissan OEM muffler is about $385.
I'm sure i can get aftermarket one's for less than that.
However, i'm not sure which one to get - anyone knows of a nice looking yet none-droning muffler? I'm not really looking to gain performance from it, i just want to save some cash.
I'm thinking Flowmaster since i can get them direct but i'm not sure.
Thanks

A 3-chamber Delta flow 50 or 60 series would be my choice in your shoes.

I saw a recent thread on how the 50 series might be a bit loud in the lower rpm range. Unfortunately unless i hear it personally i'll never know for sure.
I'll check on the Delta Flow's. You wouldn't happen to know where i could find soundlips of those would you? (or perhaps a comparison to another vehicle on how it sounds?)

i should be getting the flowmaster 50 series put on my car this week or next, depending on when i have time to go to the shop. i'm hoping it isn't too loud, but the pt cruiser clip on the flowmaster site sounded good and its a freaking pt cruiser. imagine what a max can sound like.
plus, if its too loud, i'll just get a bigger resonator. if you do go the 50 route, be sure to plan ahead, most places only stock the 40 and 80 series and will have to order the 50. and you won't get a dual outlet, the outlets are too far apart for the max bumper without bending the pipe after the muffler. i'm prolly going for a single in, single out with chrome dual tip. I refuse to pay as much for a SS tip as I paid for the dang muffler.

Thanks for the response again guys
I shouldn't have any problems getting the 50 series as the warehouse stocks these - it's just a matter of getting it.
I'll probably wait until you (Ironlord) get yours installed before i make a move. I really don't want it to be too loud. I just need a cheap OEM replacement if anything.
