2000 Max HID Conversion

Has anyone done an HID conversion on a 2000 max using the original, single bulb, housing?

The FAQ's section on the org says that using HID's destroys the beam pattern, although not so much on 5th gen, and causes glare.

Has anyone experienced this on a 2000, or had any negative effects? (other than no high beams that is) or is it something you recommend?

tia.

ps - anyone have any idea what i gotta do, how many posts i gotta make, before the 'newbie' tag under my nick changes? just curious.

I had "single bulb" H4 HID in my 2000 Max for nearly 2 years. The beam pattern was similar to the stock beam pattern, but brighter. Overall I was disappointed in the beam spread due to its mottled appearance. Have been very happy with the HID Headlamp assemblies that I installed (ordered from Towne Nissan). The only problem is that they were VERY difficult to wire correctly. For factory results, order the OEM HID headlamp assemblies from Nissan. Good luck.

Correction.. It's actually a 8500K kit..

But just get 2K2 headlights if you want the HID's and change the D2R bubls with brighter ones. That's what I did
