HOLY SHNIKIES!!!!! This is some serious $hit. I was amazed when I read this,it kinda makes me wonder if its really worth the $ to get an A/M alarm installed. Car alarm anti-theft device info Tell me what u guys/gals think? Im interested in the feedback.

Not sure yet. I emailed the company and am waiting for a reply. Ill post up as soon as I hear from them. I dunno if u read through the whole site like I did,But it for damn sure looks effective.

 

I think anyone who buys most of kinds of alarm systems/hardware should remember that they are just theft 'deterants.' Nothing out there can actually be labeled theft 'prevention,' but who knows about this Ravelco device.

If the claims on about the Ravelco are true, then it would be worth it if you live and drive around places that have high rates of auto theft. (If you had a Honda or Toyota, I'd say get one because those two brand names always top the lists of most-stolen cars.) Too bad they seem to be east coast only.

 

If ur talking about the Ravelco only being on the east coast,ur wrong. They just started selling in the northeast. They are sold worldwide.

 

this might sound low tech but for $50 the auto lock is worth a look at.It locks your brake pedal or clutch.

 

I have the AUTOLOCK. Read that website,....It CAN be broken.

Its sad disabling LO-JACK is as simple as ripping off an antenna or cutting a wire,....It can be by-passed

 

First of all they have to know you have it,and they don't know if you do or not
Second there is no antenna and has it own battery back up
and third the recovery rate is over 90%.

I have lo jack with early warning not starter kill
If the car is stolen I call the police and they track it.
The early warning is a black box on my key chain .If someone starts the car without the black box I will be called ,emailed and beeped.If I the confirm that the car has been stolen I then call the police and have them track it
The system I have dose not prevent the car from starting

My 1992 Mazda 626 had this system factory installed when my I bought it back then. It works just as described, but the problem lies in the fact that people are lazy and leave the thing plugged in 24-7. I never took the thing off because it is the size of a golf ball. Imagine carrying that around in your pocket all day....no thanks.

 

Most cars are stolen in mall parking lots i think. Thats why I think its all about where you park your car. I try to park mine away from other cars so that anyone around the car would bring attention to themselves. I put a viper 790xv alarm in to help protect the headlights. As far as I am concerned if they want the car so bad they can have it...Thats why I am paying $1,000 a year to be fully insured.

 

if anyone wants any car, they can have it! living in los angeles, i can account for that statement. like others have said 'these are all deterents.' and this site with the comps negs is so gay. most thieves do NOT know how to bypass most of the 'deterents'.

interesting comment about the thing that connects to this 'amazing' deterent... what does it look like. i know there's no way i would add something to my keychain, then fumble around with it to find the pattern, and finally use the key. i wish i could have the 'keyless go' feature, the key is irritating enough for me.

you could have everything; club, alarms, secret buttons, etc... my buddy had his new 911porsche put on a flatbed and hauled away in front of his office building!!! and i consider him lucky, at least they didnt do something stupid like put a bullet in his head when he walked to his ride.

lojack? if my car is stolen, i never want them to find it! give me a check and i'll get another one. all i need is them to locate it with body damage, etc and send it to a repair shop, only to get it back looking and feeling like a used/raped car. no thanks.

by the way, my buddy had lojack, car was never found. their 90% recovery sounds suspect. i wonder how they get that #.

 

A deterrent That's all a security is.any thief can get by any alarm very easy. Around here they call them tow trucks.they don't ever have to get out of the truck to take your car.
And as far as getting your car back ,it dose not always happen the way your speak about. My friend lives in queens NY.He came home to find his blazer missing. He called the police,they tracked his car using lo jack. About Two hours later they found his car in a cargo container on a ship still at the dock along with a bunch of other cars,in perfect condtion. I traded my 02 max in, I had the viper system. I bought a 350Z ,this time I went with the Lo Jack system with early warning.If they ever take my car I hope to see them go to jail
