Seat Comfort

Now that I've had my 2000SE for 3 weeks, I'm having some problems getting used to the very firm drivers seat. It seems no matter how I adjust the position of the leather seat, I can't get comfortable. After a couple of hours of driving, my back is aching.

Does anyone else find this to be true. Any Solutions? Padded seat cushions?

did you try adjusting the firmness lever located on the right side of the seat above the center console???

That changes the shape of the seat back but doesn't do anything for the firmness.

Should've just gone with the plushness of the cloth.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing, MaXiMized MAX02, using a small pillow for the lower back. I may try a full back pad just to soften the feel. What's funny is that we also have a '99 Chevy Astro Van and it has the most comfortable seats I've ever felt in a vehicle. I thought the Maxima would be even better, but not so.

Yeah, after driving for a while, my lower back is killing me! I guess I'll find a pillow or something. I imagine that the 2k2-2k3 seats are more comfy, considering that the leather looks way better and more plush.

Finally, someone agrees with me. Sorry. I've been using a small pillow but I think that I need more of a full back cushion that would have some softness. I think it has to do with the too firm seatback putting uneven pressure on our backs.

Maybe this is an age thing. I seem to be one of the more senior members (age-wise) at 49.

I can think of many parts/quality items that Nissan deserves to be slapped for but seat comfort in my 2k3 isn't one of them. I think the 2k3 Max seats in leather are very good. Try a G35 Sedan...Now that is a pain waiting to happen besides being very uncomfotable and cramped.

Get a 2k3, I had the same problem w/ my 2k1. The seats on the 03 are 1000000000000000000000000x better and more comfy.

I don't think it's the age thing. I'm only 21 and the seats hurt my back.

Ok, i'll do that (in about 3 years). Nice to know that they improved things. The funny thing is that even though I can't get comfortable in the car, when I get out after a couple of hours, my back actually feels really good. Weird, Its like, maybe the seats are forcing my back into a more healthy alignment than I normally have. Maybe I'll get used to it. Hope so.
