Should I go to dealer for 15k maintanance?

Hi all,

I am new here. I have a 2002 GLE. Now it is about 15K. The dealer I go to for oil change gave me a list for 15K maintanance. It's kind of pricy. I am wondering: can I go to other cheaper places to do the same thing, like tire rotation? My friend told me I need to have records at Nissan dealer to get warranty coverage when anything under warranty happens. Is this true? If not, I will think about have those services done elsewhere closer to my home and cheaper, like Valvoline or Firestone. Or I can change engine oil by myself.

Thanks a lot for replying!

I didn't do it

If you look at the 15K service it's really nothing more than an oil and oil filter change. A Maxima at 15k miles should not have anything wrong with it. They also list a bunch of checks and visual inspections that I highly doubt that they actually do. I would get the express lube from Nissan for $24.00 and rotate the tires, you should have been mailed a coupon for the tire rotation from Nissan. If you haven't changed your air filter yet just buy one and do it yourself for under $10.00.
Hope this helps,
Marc

Do it all yourself. Keep receipts from your maintenance as well as a keep a log in excel or something. Changing oil, rotating tires, air filters are all easy. Check the rest of your fluids and don't worry about anything else.

Yes. It helps. Thanks a lot. I think they charge a high price for some very simple inspections. So it will not disqualify any warranty, for not having service at Nissan dealer?
