GAB and OSCAI

Ok...so pretty sure I am going to do the OSCAI.

Now...does the GAB (cutting a hole in the top of the filter housing) actually help...or do people do that just for the sound?

Also...has anyone on here had any problems from doing either one of these, such as too much dirt/water in the filter, etc.??

Thanks..

Yes it does make a difference, and no I've had no problem with water in the filter, and dirt gets stopped by the filter as well.

did you do the OSCAI in conjunction with this...or did you just cut the hole??

Why do you say this is the "best intake" you've had?? What was wrong with the frankencar & injen?

Thx!!

I was always wondering if anybody ever did a dyno to confirm those best gains. I don't understand how it can give bigger gains compared to FrankenCar and similar intakes? You still leaving all that hardware from TB to air filter which means air flow won't be smooth/straight.

The Injen lacked top end and the Frankencar lacked low end power, this takes care of both. I will be switching back to the Injen as soon as my NX kit goes on.

Hmm, very strange, I have not noticed any low end loss with FrankenCar on my car.

Everything I've read from other ORG members said that there was no low-end torque loss with the Frankencar.

Very true, you dont lose much if any low end, but with the GAB, you GAIN low end over the Frankencar. Sorry for the confusion.
