Help with lighting

I recently purchased Light up door sills from custom maxima and I cant figure out how to wre them with the door lights. I can't wire them into the switch because when te door is open it cuts the power from the wire so they are off when the door is open and o when the oor is closed. N E sugestions?????

You need to tap the wire that gives the door light its power.

where is this wire located????

Pull off the cover of the light in the door or just pull out the whole assembly as one. Use a voltmeter to check which wire has the power. There are only 2, so its one or the other.

so where should I run this wire .....in the door jam???

I put the black box and most of the wires behind the plastic kickpanel on the passenger side. I tapped the wires on the passenger side. I ran the connecting wire to the other plate under the floormats, behind the dash, under the driver side floor mat to the other sill.

so where did you connect all your wires to??? I grounded mine and put the power to that light in the door and for some reason its a continuous power??
