Hesitation TSB - dealer says 'No'
Hesitation TSB - dealer says 'No'
Well, after reviewing the 25 page thread on the hesitation TSB, I took the plunge at the dealer today. I was told that 'hesitation' doesn't = 'slight loss of power'. Nissan customer service (an oxymoron if ever there was one) agreed with the dealer. So, I still have hesitation from dead stop and nobody will fix it. (this is not the 'drive by wire' hesitation which happens when you floor it from a dead stop, but the intermittant condition which happens with normal driving from stop).
I identified this problem over a year ago and I'm now at the end of my rope. Any suggestions?

Go find another DEALER that WILL do TSB# NTB03-023, since you have a 2002 you ARE DUE the ECM reprogram and there is a very good chance you get a new MAF (22608-AM600) too! Just keep going to as many dealers as it takes because it IS WORTH IT.
I told them the TSB (in fact, gave 'em a copy of it). They frankly didn't care. Have an appointment with another dealer on Friday. Will let you know how it goes.
Of course, this is all complicated by the fact that I ID'd the problem at 15K miles and am now out of warranty at 40k. Geesh!

I tried to get them to do mine.. they came back telling me I needed to clean my TB and it'd be $220 to do it. I laughed at the guy, went to autozone, bought a $2 can of cleaner and cleaned it in 15 mins. Still haven't gotten it to another dealership to do the TSB tho.

I brought to the dealer for the ECM reprograming. They replace the new MAF but told me that they were unable to flash the CPU? My car built date was 11-01.

Well, when I picked up the car yesterday, I noticed a small piece of paper which just happened to be the DTC report from the ECM. I cross-referenced the TSB and found that my ECM was listed as one which required re-program and a new MAF. I called the dealer back this morning with that information and am awaiting a call back.

My dealer also refused to do the TSB. I have an open ticket with NNA consumer affairs but have not been able to follow up since I've been traveling the past three weeks. I plan to get back into it with them in a couple of weeks. The heat has really brought back the hesitation from start. Incidentally, I posted to our old thread here and Flatout said the TSB didn't fix the problem anyway. Dunno where we go from here.
Great, so the TSB hasn't done it? I too am at a loss of where to go. Hell, the dealer tells me that 1. I don't have a problem, or 2. This is a normal behavior for this car.
I contacted NNA about the situation and they said, "we can't override the dealer." Horsesh**.
This is my 5th Nissan. It is also my last.
