I just replaced my OEM struts with KYB GR-2s. The OEMs had 14K miles on them with Maxspeeds. The OEMs were shot. Of course, considering the OEMs were worn out, it was hard to make a comparison with brand new struts, regardless of brand. However, the KYBs would have outperformed the OEMs even had they beend brand new.

I can't believe I had been happily driving my car on the OEMs for that long. I should have replaced them a long time ago...preferably when I installed the Maxspeeds. Oh well.

My car now rides "firm", with a solid, stout feel. Of course, it is a litle firmer than I'm used to, but that's the way a good-handling car is supposed to feel.

No more outside drift when I take a corner on bumpy roads. No more sloppy-steering feel.

Congrats. I too am dropped with Stock absorbers.... GRRRR what a clunky uncomfortable ride, they gotta go!!

 

phxblue....u are on stock struts and u get a clunkin noise mainly from the back right?

 

I just recently did the same with TRokico struts and the difference is amazing.

 

Actually, it sounds like my noise is coming from the right front.
