With My Firm Fabrications midpipe & K&N combo, I don't notice any low-end loss. I used to notice it with the BERK midpipe & K&N.

I'm still amazed that I don't notice a loss. I can't wait 'till the temps hit the low 40s-30s!

It looks kinda ghetto, it looks like the stereo rack backing material you put behind your stereo and cut holes in to hide wire....

, that would be funny if the instructions he included with the intake said "cut up shipping container and cut a 3 inch hole in the middle"

Bringing back an old thread. How come they never came out with their heat shield kit?
Has anyone ever fabbed up their own heat shield that actually looks pretty decent?

Post pics.

i agree, this is total bs. you need to change the inacomming air temp by at least 15-20 degrees to see any advantages. this "shield" will not do anything.

could we fab up an isolator box for the filter, like trucks have? im sure if we were careful at it and knew what we were doing (Irish  ) we could have a box that isolates the filter. i dont see why not. with the right kind of metal, maybe with some sort of insulation on it? would it make a difference at all, since that Injen thing doesnt do anything?

I've been working on a box for the last few weeks, will post pics if I ever get time to finish. Biggest problem is clearance between the auto tranny linkage and the air filter.
