new tires vs. rain
I got to drive through a couple of supercells on the way home this evening. It was the first chance for me to test the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in the rain.
They are light years ahead of the Bridgestone Potenzas in terms of traction during acceleration, cornering ability in rain on a slick surface, traction at 80mph, steadiness during lane changes, and breaking from 60mph. I am amazed at how much of a difference these tires made over the stock ones.
It was as if the water wasn't even on the road.
I never slid, spun, or felt the tires hydroplane even when changing lanes at highway speed.
