Radiator, you can have it pressure tested and visually inspected for cleanness. A clogged up radiator will look like total crap if you look inside it. A unit with clean fins/tubes would most likely NOT be clogged. But a flow test could verify that also.
Belts. You can inspect for obvious wear. But an old belt that looks to be in perfect condition can go with no warning. And since any strength test would essentially ruin the belt, it's not really testable.

Reason why is, my name is ROSS, not Russ.

What did your radiator fluid look like when you flushed it the first time? If it was brown in color but still flowed like water...coolant was old and filled with rust. If it has patches of brown sludge, that could be oil in the coolant. FYI

to heck with it... instead of worrying about maintenance schedules, I'm just going to buy a new car every month.
That SHOULD do the trick.

To do it right you have to get the car up to temp to flush out the block.
To tell people to do this themselves with out collecting the coolant is just wrong also. This stuff is worse than oil, it's harder to collect and there is a lot more of it. This is just one of those jobs that is best done at a shop, even if you buy your own coolant.

Jeff isn't going to change what he believes, whether it is a pink elephant or not.
Just know that you and I, JT, are correct in our approach.
Ah riiight.. And exactly what do you think CLOGGED the radiator?? All the stuff in that fine looking coolant??
If you had all the junk in there, maybe the coolant wasn't all that "fine". Because if it was "fine", You wouldn't be getting all those "RUSTY FLAKES" in the coolant.

i think you dont do it cause you are lazy and/or dont know how to do it. (BTW the radiator is that flat thing in front of your engine to cool it off)and yes to do it right you need to get the car up to temp. thats what i did. "drain the coolant then put in the flush liquid. run the car with heater on till each reaches operating temp then 10 minutes longer. then drain, fill with water and repeat till water comes out clean"
Damn, you drain your old oil into the street drain also??

by the way i just got a private message. so i helped someone out. everyone else can blow me
Hey I just read that huge thread regarding the radiator flush. First off, congrats on fixing your car! Glad it worked out for ya. Second, man who the he11 does Jeff think he is? The more posts I read from him the more I think this guy needs help. He hasn't got one good thing to say about anything. Always finding the negative and ripping somebody. Your thread was a good piece of advice to some and your experiance with an overheating problem was finally solved. It's good info in there and Jeff shot it down. Sometimes I wonder how these guys go to be moderators in the first place, he surely doesn't do this site any good.

number of trips?? well in the last 6 years, 9 trips to saudi (90 days each) 8 trips to turkey (again 90) and about 5 to classified locations. plus my dad was also in the military so we traveled ALL the time.
Odd no names = no creditability. If you don't got the ***** to come out here and say something, then don't.
So since you posted it you must agree. Anytime you want to compare posts(me vs you) and see who tries to help more people, I'll take that bet too. Same goes to the no namer in the PM
Last time I remember, you were busy posting rice mobiles in this forum
