You MOVE the rear two 02-sensors behind the main cat and use the two header bung holes for an EGT and A/F gauge.

You're correct though...that's going to set off the MIL.

"should" not throw an SES light...

just like I "should" have been married for life... but then again, I digress.

That's what I was thinking too... I was trying to find out if all the hardware is supplied for this idea for $840.

I just got off the phone with my Stillen rep and was re-assured that this header WILL NOT throw an SES light.

Steve -a different slant on the fitment question:

Okay, I'm clear -because u have bene duly emphatic- that these these headers will NOT fit a 3 liter but that said, what will it take to get Stillen -or whomever is really the manufacturer (the pipe-bender) for these headers- to make a set for the 3-liter?

It's likely the only difference will be the layout of the flange where they mate up to the heads and maybe will need to be .25 inches less in diameter to maintain similar exhaust gas velocities with the smaller per-cylinder displacement, but other than that, why would they be different?

What does it take?

I think I'll sit back and wait for someone to buy these and test them out. I have to be absolutely sure these are worth the money. Here I am wishing I had the money now.

Re: Steve -a different slant on the fitment question:

Galo. I could arrange to have a local header shop fabricate a set, put it on a jig and have them mass produced. It's not hard to actually make a set. They also have a mandral bending machine also. The question is who is gonna buck up the $ to have a set made, have it dyno tested, pay for the jigging fees and then market them. Even then you are going to face the critics. IMHO, it would probably take about $2000 to have a set made and thoughly dyno'd. That's ONE set. If it took maybe 3 sets to find a combo that worked, that's about $5-6000 before you even sold one. I know Cattman is making a set for the 3.0 VQs. But I don't know if they fit the 5th gen's body style.

Sounds good Steve. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you guys get out of dynoing or an actual chart from Stillen. Anyway if they put to the wheels what you say they will then I'm defiently buying them. By the way what kind of power to the crank and also the wheel do you think I could get with my mods and the headers. 300-315hp crank and around 258hp wheel, or is that to much.

258 at the wheels is a pretty good guestimate.

Forgive my ignorance...Can someone tell me if it's pointless to get headers without upgrading your exhaust first? Thanks.

The dyno numbers that we received were all done on an otherwise completely stock maxima.

Awesome. I wonder what we'd be seeing if we had an intake + exhaust too. Can't wait to find out.

Any chance our cars will run lean with these headers? Will we need SAFC's? Also, I'm kinda worried about trying to pass California emissions with these things on...

Tell me about it. I've got over $12K invested in long tube header design and testing for the 4.7L Chrysler/Dodge Truck engine...

But the gains are real good so far with just the second overall set of test headers.
