Tail light conversion question. Help!

I have a 2000 Max GLE and I just got the chrome tail lights off a 2K2 (I think), and I wanted to do the conversion. The only problem is that the amber turn signals don't seem to fit into the socket in the new tail lights. The hole is smaller than the ones on my original all red tail lights. I've checked the forum, but I haven't seen very much on this topic and I was wondering if anyone could help. Where can I get these parts and does anyone have part numbers? I thought this was suppose to be a direct swap.

Hi. I went thru this problem also, but in reverse fashion. I went from the 2002 tails to the black 2001 tails. The turn signal sockets are different between the years, If you did not get harnesses with the different tails you put on, you'll have to order the 2002 wiring harnesses and get new amber bulbs as the bulb is diff between the years. I just went to my local Nissan parts dept and ordered the harnesses for $20.00 and some change a piece. I would show u pics if my camera wasn't broken. You know, Maybe there is a chance that I can sell you my 2002 wiring harnesses for $30.00 even if you cannot find them any cheaper, I would just have to make sure the harnesses are interchangeable between Y2K and 2K2 models. If you can find them cheaper than $30.00 , then more power to ya.

I have a 2000 SE. I put the 2002 taillights on my car without any problems. I dont remember specifically how the harness worked. But I did not order any parts, nor did anything come with it except the lights (with all the bulb holders already plugged in) and the sealant.

I don't know what the deal is, but the problem remains. The turn signal harness and bulb are too big for the new chrome tail lights and won't go in. Maybe it's a GLE thing. I guess I will have to look for the correct harness. If I can't find it, I will drop you a PM PhxBlue. Thanks.

I have a 2000 GLE-I like the SE tail lights more. Are yours in good shape? Interested in selling them?
